Internet Adoption
With the Internet Adoptions the BLM will post horses in the corrals that are able to be bid on during certain event dates.
You MUST have an approved BLM application in before you are allowed to bid.
*You can find everything out below and fill out the application online below*
Trainer Incentive Program hosted by MHF (You must be approved by MHF to become a TIP Trainer).
The TIP program allows the trainer to have 1+ horses at their property to be gentled and offered to the public. The trainer will be paid $1,000 from MHF directly once the horse has a successful approved BLM adoption application, a signed off TIP Requirement form. The horse requires a year before titling through BLM with this program.
The TIP trainer has 90 days but no more than 120 days from pick up to gentle (halter, lead, load, and pick up feet) each mustang. If the horse is not adopted out they will be asked to return to them.
BLM must be paid $125 for the gentled TIP horse. You do not pay anything more than $125!
Sale Authority
When a mustang is Sale Authority they are no longer the property of the BLM.
They do not get a title, require any special requirements. They can be gentled and rehomed without having to have a BLM approved application, without waiting a year for a title, or without having to be reassigned.
Most trainers will ask a training fee on a SA horse due to not receiving a TIP fee or the AIP fee.
A titled mustang requires you to keep the horse for a full year, you will get a piece of paper closer to the year mark that has to be signed off by either a vet, farrier, or trainer to be sent back in; once the horse has their title they are no longer BLM property.
You cannot rehome them without notifying the BLM.
If you are rehoming a title mustang without their title/before the year mark. they are considered a reassignment horse. Which must be done through BLM!
Many trainers ask for a training fee due to the horse not being in TIP or AIP.
When a horse is up for reassignment they MUST have a approved BLM application. The new adopter will be required to keep the horse a full year and receive the horses title.
The reassignment fee is $50 through BLM and MUST be paid.
Some trainers do ask for a training because the horse is being reassigned to a new adopter and has already been gentled by the trainer.
Adoption Incentive Program
The AIP allows qualified adopters to receive up to $1,000 when adopting an eligible wild horse or burro on or after March 12, 2019.
Under this program, adopters are eligible to receive:
The horse MUST remain with the adopter a full year for their title!
IA horses can be AIP eligible as well as the off range corrals and satellite adoption events.

If a horse is not in the TIP program trainers usually ask a training fee. This can be done whether the horse is SA, Titled, or able to be Reassigned.
The trainer is gentling a wild horse that is costing them farrier fees, vet fees, feed bill fees, all of which are not provided from a program. This comes directly from the trainers pocket.
The cheapest part of the gentling process is getting the horse from the corrals directly for $25 or $125.
